![]() Duke's Dan Loftus Collects ACC Weekly Men's Lacrosse Honors March 17, 2008 GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duke's Dan Loftus was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, March 16. Loftus led his top-ranked Blue Devils to a pair of wins, including a 19-9 victory over third-ranked North Carolina Saturday in front of 4,008 fans at Koskinen Stadium in Durham, N.C. Following Loftus' efforts, the Blue Devils are now 7-0 overall, 2-0 in league action and 6-0 on their home field. Duke is riding a seven-game win streak and have won 11 of the past 14 meetings over the Tar Heels. Duke's win gives the Blue Devils victories in 22 of their last 24 home games. Since the beginning of the 2005 season, the Blue Devils are 26-8 over nationally-ranked opponents and own a 14-2 record against ACC foes. Veteran goalkeeper Loftus pushed his career ledger to 31-6 as a starter by making a season-high 15 saves against just six goals allowed in the 53:26 minutes of action against North Carolina. The senior leads the ACC with a 68.4 save percentage and has tallied 54 saves over six games played this season. The Blue Devils remain at home to face Colgate on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
