![]() Tournament Host Committee of Greensboro and 98.7 Simon Present 'Picnic in the Park'
March 24, 2008 On Monday, March 31st, the Tournament Host Committee of Greensboro and 98.7 Simon present "Picnic in the Park from 11:30 to 2:00 p.m., featuring a free concert performance by Black & Blue. "Picnic in the Park" will be held at Center City Park located at the corner of Elm Street and Friendly Avenue in the heart of downtown Greensboro. The event will have a family atmosphere with live music, interactive games and fun-filled activities for all ages. Admission is free! Hot dogs, chips and Pepsi's will be available for just $1.00 each! So grab a picnic blanket and your team's favorite colors and have a "Picnic in the Park"! The "Picnic in the Park" is being held in conjunction with the City of Greensboro's hosting of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Regional (March 30 & April 1) at Greensboro Coliseum. "Events such as Picnic in the Park and the Tournament Town Goes Downtown Block Party (March 29) are designed to provide a community-wide celebration that showcases our downtown district and demonstrates our community spirit for hosting major college basketball tournaments," said Tournament Host of Greensboro Committee chairman Dr. Harrison Turner. Since 1968, Black & Blue has entertained audiences worldwide - from the Virgin Islands to Puerto Rico, and across the eastern United States and Canada.
