COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Due to continued rain in the College Park area, two of Saturday's four scheduled contests at the 2008 Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Championship have been cancelled. With the wet weather, the Championship will revert back to single-elimination format, knocking out fourth-seeded Georgia Tech and No. 6 Boston College, who dropped their opening games on Thursday.

Saturday's semifinals, featuring Virginia Tech vs. Florida State and North Carolina vs. NC State, respectively, will now be played at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., with the Championship final returning to its originally scheduled slot at 12:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

The new schedule for the remainder of the weekend is as follows:

Saturday, May 10
Semifinals
#2 Virginia Tech vs. #3 Florida State - 2 p.m.
#1 North Carolina vs. #5 NC State - 4:30 p.m.

Sunday, May 11
Championship Game
Winner of #2/#3 vs. Winner of #1/#5 - Noon
Game will be broadcast live on FSN South, SUN Sports, Comcast SportsNet and NESN.
