April 28, 2008 Garden City, N.Y. - On April 15, the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) and Student Activities Board (S.A.B.) co-hosted what seems to be the first of many partnered events. Dozens of students gathered to enjoy the feature film, "We are Marshall" while enjoying a meal together. This evening was designed with this year's Student Government Association goal of unifying the campus community. This was a very large step towards accomplishing this goal, because it was the first time that S.A.A.C. and an S.G.A. sponsored club co-hosted an event together. S.A.B. President Erin O'Neill stated, "The event was a huge success and we look forward to hosting a variety of events with S.A.A.C. in the following years. This proves that with a unified campus we can accomplish even the most difficult of tasks." S.A.A.C. Promotions Coordinator Matt Pink stated, "The movie night was fun and it was great seeing everyone together in one place. S.A.A.C. looks forward to its newly found friendship with S.A.B. and S.G.A. and its future endeavors together." Contributed by Vincent Treglia |
