Garden City, N.Y. - The Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College are the top seed for the upcoming East Coast Conference Baseball Championships, while the Adelphi University baseball team (23-23) clinched the sixth seed.

The Spartans tied with Dowling College and the University of New Haven atop the regular season standings, but earned the top seed through conference tiebreaking procedures. New Haven took the second seed, while Dowling is third.

Tournament action opens Wednesday with single elimination games. No. 3 seed Dowling will host No. 6 seed Adelphi, while No. 4 seed LIU/C.W. Post hosts No. 5 seed Molloy.

The tournament then shifts to the Golden Lions baseball stadium located on Dowling College's Brookhaven, New York campus. The tournament shifts to double elimination games Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
