Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University junior Edward Ege has been named the Division II leader in assists per game and points per game, while senior Jesse Corben led the country in face-off win percentage. This is the first NCAA statistical championship for both players. Ege, a first-team USILA All-American, led the nation in points per game, averaging 6.17 and assists per game, handing out 4.33 assists each time he set foot on the field. Ege was also selected as the East Coast Conference Player of the Year and was a first-team All-ECC selection in addition to leading the Panthers in goals (22), assists (52) and points(74). Corben, a first-team USILA All-American, led the nation in face-off win percentage, winning 71.9 (189 of 264) percent of all face-offs he took this spring. A first-team All-ECC honoree, Corben also led Adelphi in ground balls with 94, putting him second on the single season list and the senior finished his career with 186 ground balls, good enough for third all-time. The Panthers posted a record of 7-5 overall, and 3-3 in ECC play. |
