Garden City, NY - Adelphi University Men's Tennis began their first home competition of the season at Hempstead Lake State Park with a one-one split against the East Stroudsburg University Warriors and the Concordia College Clippers. The Panthers lost the first bought against the Clippers, 9-0, but rallied back the next day with a 7-2 win over the Warriors. The Panthers now sit 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the East Coast Conference. The Clippers came out on top in all nine matches against the Brown and Gold on March 29, but Adelphi would regain their footing the next day against ESU and start the match with a win in the number one singles spot by Tomasz Walczak. Adelphi would follow his lead in the next four positions including a win by Anton Voynov putting him at 9-1 overall for the season. In doubles, both tandems of Walczak and Alex Molotsky and Sebastian Nieves and Voynov picked up wins over the Warriors. Adelphi Men's Tennis will return to action April 2, when they travel to Flushing, NY to take on the Queens College Knights in East Coast Conference action. |
