Bronxville, N.Y. - Down 27-30 at the half, the Adelphi University women's basketball team outscored Concordia College, 46-32, in the second half for a 73-62 conference victory on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers improve to 10-10 overall and 8-5 in the ECC. The Clippers drop to 1-17 and 1-12 in the ECC.

Senior Gianna Smith (Hempstead, N.Y.) led all scorers with 26 points, including a 10-for-12 effort from the charity stripe. She also had eight rebounds. Junior Lisa Manetta (Glendale, N.Y.) had 15 points, while junior Serita Lee (Freeport, N.Y.) chipped in 11 points and a game-high 15 boards.

Adelphi struggled in the first half, connecting on just 10-of-33 from the field, or 30.3 percent. The Panthers shot a much improved 40.6 percent in the second stanza, as they surged past the Clippers for the win.

The Panthers dominated the boards, outrebounding the Clippers 55-40. Senior Mary Lepore (Manhasset, N.Y.) pulled down 10 rebounds to go along with her six points. Junior Jasmine Travers (Gaitersburg, Md.) snatched five of the team's 11 steals.

Concordia had four players in double-figures and were led by Bonnie DeFina with 13. Dana Rommell chipped in 12 points.

Adelphi returns to action on next Saturday, February 9, as they travel to Sparkill, New York to take on St. Thomas Aquinas at 1:00 p.m.
