Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University has selected as the No.4 seed in the 2008 ECAC Division II Women's Basketball Championship presented by FieldTurf Tarkett. The championship will be a four-team event, with the semifinal and finals played in Philadelphia. Adelphi will take on top seed Wilmington University (DE) in the first semifinal contest. The Wildcats completed the regular season with a 20-9 overall record, 13-5 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. Adelphi ended the 2008 campaign with a 14-14 mark, 12-8 in conference play. In the other semifinal match-up, No. 2 Philadelphia University will face No. 3 Caldwell College. Philadelphia holds a 19-9 record (12-6 in CACC action) while Caldwell boasts a 17-11 overall record, going 10-7 in the CACC. Philadelphia and Caldwell met in the second-to-last game of the regular season, with the Rams coming away with a 75-59 win. The Philadelphia/Caldwell game will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14 and the Wilmington/Adelphi will follow beginning at 7:00 p.m. The two semifinal winners will meet in Saturday's Championship game that is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. Live stats will be available for all games via PrestoSports.
