Game One|Game Two

Junior Julie Schaper pitched a one-hitter in game one and combined for 3-6 with two doubles and three RBI to help Adelphi sweep St. Anselm, 8-0 and 3-2, in non-conference action this afternoon. The Panthers improve to 11-5 on the season while the Hawks fall to 2-10.
Game One
Adelphi quickly made it a 1-0 game when sophomore Samantha Johnston singled then advanced on a sac bunt by sophomore Kristin Brennan before reaching third. A hit by sophomore Jessica Vogt scored Johnston. The third inning was more productive with Johnston crossing home again on a double from sophomore Diana DiPiano. A Schafer double brought in two runs before she scored on a single by senior Alana daSilva to make it a 5-0 game. Schafer's second double of the game brought in two of the final three runs for the win.
Schafer also picked up the win, giving up just one hit and one walk while striking out seven.
Adelphi had eight runs on ten hits with no errors. St. Anselm had no runs on one hit with no errors.
Game Two
The Hawks struck first, collecting two runs in the third inning. The Panthers knotted the score in the fourth on a homerun by sophomore Christina O'Hara and a single from Brennan which brought home junior Dely Francisco. Senior Kristina LoCastro scored the winning run on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Robinson recorded the win on the mound in relief, pitching 4.2 innings with four hits and one strike.
Adelphi had three runs on 11 hits with no errors. St. Anselm had two runs on 10 hits with no errors.
The Panthers return to conference action on Tuesday, March 27, as they travel to C.W. Post. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
