April 17, 2007 Garden City, N.Y. - Junior Julie Schaper (Warwick, N.Y.) and sophomore Diana DiPiano (Valley Stream, N.Y.) were recognized as ECC and ECAC Pitcher of the Week and Co-Player of the Week, respectively. This is the first time both players have been honored by the conference this season as well as the ECAC. Schaper went 2-0 hurling two complete games (10 innings), allowing just three hits and one run while fanning 19 with a 0.70 ERA. Julie pitched a perfect game versus Mercy, and in that game, she struck out 13 of 15 batters she faced. DiPiano, who share this week's honor with Dowling's Taras Wallace, hit .714 on a 4-0 week for the Panthers. She went 10 of 14 with four doubles, two home runs, six runs scored and eight RBI. she also added two stolen bases. Adelphi returns to action this Thursday, April 19, hosting the University of New Haven beginning at 3:30 p.m.
