Garden City, N.Y. - Senior outfielder Dely Francisco was selected as a ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-District, while senior pitcher Julie Schaper was named to the second-team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSida).

Members of the first team advance to the national ballot with announcements to be made later this month.

Francisco, a physical education and health major, maintains a 3.91 grade point average. She has been named a Daktronics First-Team All-Region selection as well as a NFCA Second-team All-Region pick. She was also named to the first-team All-ECC. Francisco leads the team in at-bats, and holds both the single season and career Adelphi records for stolen bases.

Schaper, the 2008 ECC Pitcher of the Year, is a biology major with a 3.78 grade point average. She is a also a first-team Daktronics All-Region and a NFCA second-team all-region selection. She is ranked second all-time for the Panthers in career strikeouts and fourth in career wins. This is the second academic nod for Schaper, who was selected to the second-team in 2006.

Francisco is the first to be named to a first-team selection since 2003 when Kristine McCarthy '03 was recongized.
