Track Opens Up at Findlay Classic



Bulldogs warm up for indoor season at Findlay Classic

FINDLAY, Ohio - The Adrian College track and field teams started their indoor season at the University of Findlay Classic on Saturday. On the women's side the following ladies competed for the Bulldogs: Allison Lofgren placed 30th in the 60 meter dash and 17th in the long jump, Jennifer Reynolds placed 36th in the 60 meter dash and eighth in the high jump, Brittany Saull placed 22nd in the 400 meters, Lucie Smith placed 24th in the 400 meters, Kelsey Miller placed 25th in the 400 meters, Caitlin Dickerson was 26th in the 400 meters and 37th in the shot put, Ashley Dixon took home 31st in the 600 meters, Liesle Travis was 26th in the 5,000 meters, Kelly Griffin was 27th in the 5,000 meters and Jeanine Carpenter was 29th in the 5,000 meters.

The men's squad had their best results in the sprinting events. Six guys finished in the top 52 in the 60 meter dash as Chris Calley had the best finish with a 7.30 which was good for 24th place. Desmond Upshaw placed 30th with a time of 7.33. Calley also placed 16th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.45 and Upshaw was 22nd in the 200 meter dash.

Kourtney Price placed 14th in the 400 meters with a time of 53.06. Justin Kulman placed 24th in the same event with a time of 55.65. In the distance events, Joe Hart placed 38th in the mile run while Jay Yockey was one spot behind with a time of 4:51.45. Bob Palmer placed 16th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:21.47. Marcus Duncan finished 11th in the high jump with a height of 5'8.75". Mike Arnett placed 18th in the shot put with a throw of 43'7.75". James Vinston and Jeff Boyce finished 22nd and 23rd respectively in the shot put. David Hartford placed ninth in the unseeded version of the pole vault clearing 11'11.75".
