GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Adrian College track & field squads competed on Saturday at the Grand Rapids Open to begin the outdoor portion of their schedule. Despite less than ideal conditions, the Bulldogs turned in notable performances. Jennifer Reynolds tied for fourth in the high jump clearing 4-11 and Allison Lofgren placed eighth clearing 4-7. Reynolds and Lofgren also competed in the long jump as Lofgren finished ninth with a distance of 14-7 while Reynolds was 10th with a jump of 14-1. Caitlin Dickerson placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 36-3.5 and also was 12th in the discus (103-10) and fifth in the javelin throw (82-11). Brianna Davis also competed in the throwing events and was seventh in the shot put (34-5.75) and 11th in the discus (105-8). The male sprinters had a good showing in the 200 meter dash as Chris Calley was third (22.84) and Desmond Upshaw was fourth (23.14). Chris Elsey placed fifth in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.69. Justin Kulman placed sixth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.10. Kulman was also sixth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.79. The 4x100 relay team won the event with a time of 42.50 just ahead of Aquinas College. Ian Thornton placed second in the high jump clearing 6-1. Mark Chung was fourth in the pole vault with a height of 11-6. Mike Arnett placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 45-7.5. |
