ADRIAN, Mich. - The women's tennis team got a step closer to their first win of the season but eventually fell 6-3 against Spring Arbor University on Tuesday afternoon. The duo of Lindsey Eshelman and Katelyn Simcina were the brightest stars on the court for the Bulldogs. Eshelman was a winner at one singles defeating Rachel Kafader by the scores of 6-4, 6-2. She teamed up earlier in the day in one doubles with Simcina to grind out a 9-8 win over Kafader and Amy Smith. Simcina went the distance at two singles before winning her match 6-2, 11-9 in a second set tiebreaker over Smith. Other notable individual matches took place at three singles where Robyn Bahr lost a close one (7-6, 7-5) to Cara Wall. Jaci Holsem also defeated Katie MacFarlan at five singles in three sets by the scores of 6-1, 3-6, 7-5. Adrian is now 0-2 overall and will gear up for their spring trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina beginning on March 25. |
