HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Bulldog women's tennis team tasted the sweet nectar of victory on Tuesday morning with a tight 5-4 win over York College (Pa.) in the Palmetto State. Lindsey Eshelman improved to 3-2 in singles play for the season with a clean sweep (6-0, 6-0) of Amber Nelson at two singles. Katelyn Simcina improved her singles record this season to 4-1 with a 6-2, 6-4 win at one singles over Keturah Buchanan. Robyn Bahr got her first singles victory of 2008 with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 win over Megan Logan at three singles. Eshelman and Simcina defeated Buchanan and Nelson, 8-3, at one doubles improving the duo to 3-1 on the year. Bahr and Leeann Brooks played doubles together for the first time this season and claimed an 8-6 decision at two doubles over Heidi Acker and Katie Muir. Adrian is 1-4 overall with the win. |
