Air Force Men Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors

March 7, 2008

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Air Force men's cross country team earned All-Academic Team honors, the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association recently announced. It is the fifth time in Academy history that the Falcons have earned the All-Academic Team distinction. With a combined grade-point-average of 3.14, Air Force was one of 98 men's programs to receive the honor.

The Falcons were one of two men's programs in the Mountain West Conference to earn All-Academic Team status by the USTFCCCA, joining BYU. Air Force, which received the distinction last year, also earned the honor in 1995, 1996 and 1997. This is not the first academic honor bestowed on the Falcons this season. Senior Kenny Grosselin was a recipient of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, while 10 runners received academic all-conference honors.

To be considered for USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, they must have competed as a team at an NCAA regional championship meet and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
