• Alaska leads the all-time series 18-16-4 and is 6-3-1 in the last 10 games against the Falcons, including a sweep at Bowling Green in the first-round playoff series in March 2005. After upending the higher-ranked Falcons, the Nanooks advanced to the CCHA Super Six Tournament in Detroit and placed third: their highest post-season finish in program history.

• This weekend's series marks the 11th and 12th meetings between the Nanooks and the Falcons in the last three seasons.

• This weekend's series marks redshirt freshman forward Ryan Hohl's first encounter with Bowling Green since transferring from the Ohio-based school in December. He was a walk-on freshman for the Falcons in 2006-07 but suffered a season-ending ankle injury during the team's intrasquad game.

• KFXF Fox 7 is broadcasting both games at Bowling Green in Fairbanks. Friday's game will air live starting at 3:05 p.m. AST, while Saturday's game will be tape delayed and air at 7:05 p.m. AST. In addition, prior to Saturday's contest, Fox 7 will air the two-part CCHA All-Access shows that feature the Alaska Nanooks hockey program starting at 6:00 p.m. AST.

• Alaska used a pair of 3-2 victories to capture its first two-game series sweep of the season against Western Michigan last week. It marked the first time since Oct. 26-27, 2006, when the Nanooks swept Ferris State at the Carlson Center.

• The Blue and Gold are 3-7-2 (3-5-2 CCHA) in away games, but 3-2-2 in their last seven road games and 3-1-1 in their last five. Sophomore Dion Knelsen leads the Nanook skaters offensively on the road, with 6-8-14 through 12 games.

• Alaska goalie Wylie Rogers was solid between the pipes against WMU turning away 75-of-79 Bronco shots (.949 saves percentage) to earn his second CCHA Goalie of the Week Award this season.

• Nanook captain T.J. Campbell garnered his first CCHA Defensive Player of the Week award after posting the best two-game series of his career, notching 1-2-3 for his first scoring streak (two games), first multi-point weekend, and his first game-winning goal.

• Campbell and Rogers were just the second and third Alaska skaters to receive a weekly honor this season and the first pair of Nanooks to win weekly awards in the same week since Nov. 6, 2006, when defenseman Tyler Eckford and forward Kyle Greentree nabbed defensive and offensive player of the week awards.

• Rogers has backstopped Alaska to all seven of its wins this season stopping 246-of-257 opponent shots (.957) and maintaining a 1.55 goals-against average when the Nanooks prove victorious.

• Junior defenseman Tyler Eckford notched his 50th and 51st career assists last weekend to improve his career figures to 14-51-65, the most points by a third-year defenseman since Felipe Larranaga (2000-04) amassed 13-45-58 through his junior season.

• Freshman forward Landon Novtotney notched his team-best 11th and 12th goals of the year in Saturday's 3-2 win over WMU, including the eventual game-winner. He is the only Nanook skater with double-figure goals this season and needs 10 to match the single-season record of 22 by Andy Pokupec during the 1986-87 season.
