Rough Debut for Bulldog Baseball in Opener

Kevin Collins took the loss for A&M

Feb. 22, 2008

Final Stats

Alabama A&M spotted Indiana Tech a five-run lead in the top of the first Friday in the season opener, and despite battling back to make a game of it early, the visiting Warriors opened up the contest late and cruised to a 26-5 victory. Tyron Childress drove in three runs with two doubles, but was forced to leave the game after injuring himself legging out the second of his two hits. A&M scored four runs in the first and another in the second, but could not manage much more offense the rest of the day.

That was not the case for Indiana Tech.  The Warriors homered five times on the day and scored eight runs in the seventh, five runs in the eighth, and four runs in the ninth.

Kevin Collins worked 5.2 innings and took the loss for the Bulldogs. Kris Begley scored the win for Indiana Tech.
