BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - LaKitha Murray, a senior guard on the UAB women's basketball team, has been named this week's UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Murray had a strong semester academically in the fall and has grabbed 33 rebounds and scored 19 points in 16 games played this season.

For her career, Murray has played in more than 100 games and has started in over 40.

The Tuscaloosa, Ala. native is majoring in communication studies.

Coming off a six-point victory at Memphis on Sunday, the Blazers will be back in action on Friday when they host Rice at 7:00 p.m. inside Bartow Arena.
