BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's basketball team will be the No. 3 seed in the 2008 Conference USA Tournament, which begins on Thursday in Orlando, Fla. By earning a top-four seed in the tournament, the Blazers receive a first-round bye and will play the winner of the Marshall vs. Tulane game Friday at 2:30 p.m. ET.

UAB finished the regular season with an overall record of 14-15 and a 10-6 mark in league play. The No. 3 seed is the second-highest seed in the C-USA Tournament in the history of the program. The Blazers earned a No. 2 seed a season ago for their best finish in C-USA.

The tournament will kick off Thursday with four first-round games. The Blazers will begin their quest for the C-USA Tournament Championship on Friday at 2:30 p.m. when they take on the winner of Thursday's game between No. 6 Marshall and No. 11 Tulane.
