BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- UAB track and field senior Genoah Collins was chosen as Conference USA Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the league office.

Collins provisionally qualified for the national indoor meet after running a 2:08.34 in the 800-meter dash at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind., last weekend. Her time marked the second-best performance in UAB history and sixth fastest at the meet.

Collins was also a member of the distance medley relay team that broke the school record by six seconds with a time of 11.37.50, good for seventh-place.

She also helped the 4x400-meter relay team finish fifth with a time of 3:44.55, the second fastest time in school history.

Collins is the first UAB track and field athlete to earn two athlete of the week honors in a season. She was named co-athlete of the week on Jan. 23.
