The American University men's basketball team visits Colgate on Sunday for a 12:02 p.m. tip-off versus the Raiders in a game televised nationally on ESPNU. The first-place Eagles will attempt to extend their 1 ½ game lead over the next closest competitor in the Patriot League standings.

AU enters the game riding a season-high four-game win streak. In its last game, American snapped an eight-game slide against the Bucknell Bison, the 11th such streak of seven or more games that has been broken in the Patriot League this season. During the game, junior guard Garrison Carr hit five three-pointers to set the all-time Patriot League single-season three-pointers made record. He now has 103 treys this season, the first player in PL history to break triple digits.

Carr has been a key cog in the Eagles' four-game win streak, averaging 25 points per game and shooting .567 during the run. He has hit 20 three-pointers during the four-game stretch, while shooting .488 from behind the arc. He has played all 40 minutes in each of the four games. Carr scored a career-high 32 points in the win over Lafayette on February 2, which launched AU's current streak. Carr is also averaging 5.8 rebounds per contest during that stretch.

Meanwhile, junior forward Brian Gilmore has also played well as of late. He is averaging 13.8 ppg over the last four games, shooting .615 overall and .571 from three-point land. And junior center Cornelio Guibunda is also contributing lately, averaging 6.0 rebounds and notching seven blocks over the last four matchups.

Colgate won its last game, 76-75, over Lafayette when the Leopards missed a free throw at the buzzer that would have tied the game. The Raiders have won three of their last five games and now stand at 4-6 in the conference, tied for seventh with Holy Cross. The Raiders, however, are just two games out of second place. Kyle Roemer leads CU offensively, notching 14.8 ppg. Kendall Chones is the team's leading rebounder, at 5.4 rpg, while shooting .586 and scoring 11.3 ppg.

In the last meeting between these two teams, Carr had 22 points and Derrick Mercer 13 to lead American to a 65-57 win. American has won six straight versus the Raiders and 10 of the last 11. Colgate last won on Feb. 13, 2005, in Hamilton.
