Several downtown Tempe streets will be closed for the Ironman Triathlon later this week. With track and field, men's golf, softball, water polo and men's tennis at home this weekend, along with spring football practice, here are a few travel tips for fans wishing to attend the many Arizona State athletic events this weekend. Fans should be aware of the following street closures:

o       Rio Salado Parkway between Ash Avenue and Mill Avenue will be closed in both directions from 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, until 6 p.m. on Monday, April 14.

o       Westbound Rio Salado Parkway between Ash Avenue and Lakeshore Drive will be closed from 6 a.m. on Sunday, April 13, until 12 a.m. on Monday, April 14.

The following roads will be closed in both directions from 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, until 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 13:

o       Mill Avenue in both directions between Second Street and Washington Street/Curry Road

o       Lakeview Drive in both directions between Washington Street and Curry Road

o       Scottsdale Road in both directions between Rio Salado Parkway and Loop 202

o       McClintock Drive in both directions at Rio Salado Parkway

o       Eastbound Rio Salado Parkway between Mill Avenue and Packard Drive

These closures will also result in several bus detours, including the following routes: 

o       Orbit "Earth" shuttle

o       Valley Metro routes 1, 56, 66, 72, 76 and 81
