March 14, 2008

Just two weeks after sweeping the diving titles at the Pac-10 Championships, Micky Benedetti took first place at the NCAA Zone E Championships in Oklahoma City, moving up three spots from the preliminary round. The junior scored 733.55 points during the first day to put himself over 40 points higher than the second-place finisher. Benedetti placed third at last year's Zone E Championships.

Billy Sweeney also competed in the three meter. The junior placed 11th with 571.55 points.

The women competed in the one meter. Erin Hobbs moved up nine spots from the preliminaries to place eighth overall with 479.65 points. Freshman Brittany Jumer took 11th with 476.45 points.

The Sun Devils will continue competition today with the men competing in the one meter and the women in the three meter.
