Three Men's Tennis Players Advance to Semifinals at Pac-10 Championships

Ojai, Calif. - Three Arizona State men's tennis players stayed alive after day two of the 2008 Pac-10 Men's Tennis Championships at the Ojai Valley Tennis Club in Ojai, Calif. Wes Miller, T.J. Bellama and Matt Brooklyn will all see action tomorrow.

The lone singles player still competing, Miller earned a place in the Invitational Singles semi-finals with a win over USC's Daniel Gliner. Miller came back after dropping a hard-fought 5-7 set to handily defeat Gliner 6-1, 6-2 in the next two sets. A Miller will compete against Washington's David Chu tomorrow in the semifinals.

In doubles, the No. 2 seeded team of T.J. Bellama and Matt Brooklyn won two matches to advance tomorrow's semi-finals. Currently ranked No. 45 nationally, Bellama and Brooklyn picked up an 8-5 win over California's Pierre Mouillon and Kallim Stewart in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, the duo notched an 8-4 victory over Alexander Cornelisen and Marcos Verdasco of Oregon. Bellama and Brooklyn will face Arizona's Bruno Alcala and Claudio Christen in the semifinal.
