Wrestlers Join Forces with Tempe Boys and Girls Club for Study Time

Feb. 11, 2008

TEMPE, Ariz. - Members of the Arizona State University wrestling team have been active in the surrounding communities of the Valley of the Sun in recent weeks with donations made to local charities and a visit to the Boys and Girls Club of Tempe on January 31.

At the Boys and Girls Club, many members of the team that did not make the trip to Oklahoma visited with local children and assisted them with homework. Many of the children brought mathematics and social studies homework to do with the wrestlers answering questions and assisting them with other aspects of their studies.

Over the weekend, the Sun Devils joined forces with Cigna and Food City to make donations to a trio of organizations in the Valley. ASU Wrestling and Cigna made a contribution to the Hospice of the Valley while Food City and ASU Wrestling teamed to contribute to both the Eloisa Diaz Foundation and the UMOM New Day Center.

The Sun Devils will close out their 2008 dual season this Sunday at 2 p.m. as they play host to Stanford.
