Women's Golf in Third after Day One of Pac-10 Play

Palos Verdes, Calif. - The fourth-ranked Arizona State University women's golf team is in third place after the first round of the 2008 Pac-10 Championships in Palos Verdes, Calif. ASU shot 12-over 296 in round one, 12 strokes off first-day leader UCLA.

Junior All-American Azahara Munoz leads the Sun Devils shooting a 1-over 72 in the first round to tie for seventh place. Sophomore Juliana Murcia and sophomore All-American Anna Nordqvist are tied for 13th after both shooting a 3-over 74. Junior All-American Jennifer Osborn shot a 5-over 76 in round one to tie for 24th. Senior Camila Sola is tied for 46th after shooting a 14-over 85.

The second round of the 2008 Pac-10 Championships continues tomorrow at the par-71, 6,060 yard Palos Verdes Golf Club. ASU is the reigning Pac-10 Champion, winning a Pac-10 record seventh championship last season.
