Men's Swimming & Diving Most Outstanding Performer
David Zenk - George Washington
Junior, St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day School
Zenk won three individual events to earn Most Outstanding Performer honors at the 2008 A-10 Championships (Feb. 20-23)...captured gold in the 200-yard backstroke (1:47.15), the 200-yard individual medley (1:50.50) and 400-yard individual medley (3:56.36)...earns his second Most Outstanding Performer award in three seasons.
Men's Swimming & Diving Most Outstanding Diver
RJ Rappe - Massachusetts
Senior, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS
Rappe garnered Most Outstanding Diver honors at the A-10 Championships after eclipsing his previous Conference record in the one-meter diving competition with a score of 635.90...also won the three-meter event with a record total of 678.55...UMass claimed its seventh A-10 crown in eight seasons.
Men's Swimming & Diving Most Outstanding Rookie
Edward LeBlanc - Duquesne
Freshman, Raleigh, N.C./William G. Enloe HS
LeBlanc won a pair of individual events and was a part of two school record-setting relays en route to being named the Most Outstanding Rookie of the 2008 A-10 Championship...won the 200-yard freestyle (1:39.26) and 500-yard freestyle (4:29.73) events and swam a leg on the winning 200-yard freestyle (1:22.72) and 800-yard freestyle (6:42.51) relays.
Women's Swimming & Diving Most Outstanding Performer
Jessica Witt - Richmond
Senior, Fullerton, Calif./Sunny Hills HS
Witt earned her second A-10 Most Outstanding Performer honor after leading the Spiders to their seventh consecutive league crown...won the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.80), 400-yard individual medley (4:22.80) and 500-yard freestyle (4:54.75) events...her time in the 400-yard individual medley was an NCAA "B" cut time...also swam a leg of the winning 200-yard medley (1:44.02), 400-yard medley (3:46.54) and 800-yard freestyle (7:28.97) relays.

Karen Upperco, Massachusetts
Junior, Titusville, N.J./Hopewell Valley HS
Upperco won a gold and a silver medal and earned Most Outstanding Diver honors at the 2008 A-10 Championship...captured the one-meter event with a Championship-record total of 520.60...finished runner-up in the three-meter competition (563.95)...UMass finished fourth in the ten-team field.

Kari Peglar - Xavier
Freshman, Chesterfield, Mo./Lafayette HS
Peglar became the first-ever Xavier swimmer to garner Most Outstanding Rookie honors after leading the Musketeers to a program-best second-place finish at the 2008 Championship...won the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:05.10) and placed second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:56.69)...established school records in both events...also swam a leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay that finished third with a program-best time of 7:34.46.

Junior, Rightfielder, 6-3, 205 lbs.
Augoura Hills, Calif./Agoura HS
Metzroth went 7-for-12 (.583) with six RBI and five runs scored in three contests at the Jacksonville Invitational...added four walks...slugged the first two homers of his career and reached base seven times in the Spiders' 23-16 win over UNC-Wilmington on Feb. 22.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Scott Turmail - Saint Louis
Junior, Righthanded Pitcher, 6-3, 190 lbs.
Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central HS
Turmail tossed a four-hit, complete-game shutout on Feb. 23 as Saint Louis downed Belmont, 4-0...fanned three and did not walk a batter...induced 12 ground ball outs...faced just three hitters over the minimum.
Baseball Rookie of the Week
Sean Rockey - George Washington
Sophomore, Shortstop, 6-0, 185 lbs.
Sammamish, Wash./Eastlake HS
Rockey scored six runs and knocked in five as George Washington won all three of its contests at the Courtyard by Marriot Baseball Classic in Spartanburg, S.C. (Feb. 23-24)...collected five hits in 13 at-bats, including a pair of doubles...also drew three walks...was named to the all-tournament team for his efforts in leading GW to its first 3-0 start since 1993.
Men's Tennis Performer of the Week
Doug Matthews - Xavier
Junior, Maineville, Ohio/Kings HS
Matthews won both matches from the No. 1 flight, topping Butler, 7-5, 6-1, on Feb. 20 and Belmont, 6-2, 6-4, on Feb. 23...defeated Butler in the first doubles flight, 9-8 (5) and Belmont, 8-3...victories improve 2007-08 season record to 10-6 in singles play and 12-8 in doubles.
Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Bryce Warnock - Dayton
Freshman, Prairie Village, Kan./Shawnee Mission East HS
Warnock picked up a pair of victories on the week, defeating Wright State's No. 6 (6-3, 6-1) on Feb. 20 and Belmont's No. 5 on Feb. 22 (6-0, 6-0)...from the No. 3 doubles flight, defeated Belmont opponents, 8-1...wins improve record to 4-7 in singles play this season.

Candynce Boney - Massachusetts

Boney split a pair of matches this week from the second flight, losing to Dartmouth, 6-3, 7-5, on Feb. 20 before taking a 6-2, 6-2, victory against Army on Feb. 22...split doubles matches from the first flight, losing to Dartmouth, 8-4, followed by an 8-5 victory against Army...second straight Rookie of the Week honor.

Jessica Serio - Massachusetts
Sophomore, Catcher, Barrington, R.I./Barrington HS
Serio hit 7-of-13 (.538) in five contests which included three top ten opponents...had four RBI and hit two doubles... in a 4-2, 13-inning loss versus defending national champion and No. 9 Arizona on Feb. 23, she went 2-for-3 off the 2007 WCWS MVP Taryn Mowatt...had at least one hit in all five games and was a combined 2-for-4 versus both No. 5 UCLA and No. 10 Baylor...extended her hit streak to six games.

Erin Kelly - Saint Louis
Freshman, Righthanded Pitcher, River Forest, Ill./Fenwick HS
Kelly, who has picked up all of the Billikens' victories this season, earned both of SLU's wins in relief last weekend...did not allow a hit en route to a 6-2 win over Northern Colorado on Feb. 23...struck out a career-high eight batters in five innings pitched on her way to a 6-4 win over Alcorn State on Feb. 24... opponents hit just .080 as she posted a team-best 0.88 ERA in eight innings pitched and had a team-high 12 strikeouts.

Caitlin Garmin - George Washington
Senior, Goalkeeper, Baltimore, Md./Friends School
Garman set a career-high with 18 saves, one shy of the program record for saves in a game, in GW's narrow 11-10 loss to No. 10 Georgetown on Feb. 20...Garman limited the Hoyas to just 2-of-8 shooting on free-position attempts, secured two ground balls and caused a turnover...her 18 saves were the most recorded by an Atlantic 10 player since March 1, 2006.
Jenna Martino - Saint Joseph's
Sophomore, Midfielder, Oceanport, N.J./Shore Regional HS
Martino notched 11 goals and had 13 points in two contests to start the season...tallied seven goals and an assist in a close 16-15 loss to Lehigh on Feb. 18...netted four more goals and an assists in an 11-7 win over Lafayette on Feb. 24...added a draw control and two ground balls...leads the Hawks in goals and points.

Jackie Lyons - Massachusetts
Freshman, Attack, Rocky Point, N.Y., Rocky Point HS
Lyons scored two goals in her collegiate debut, a 9-5 win over Holy Cross on Feb. 19...added two draw controls, five caused turnovers and four ground balls to open the season at 1-1...leads UMass in caused turnovers and is second on the team in ground balls.

Trevor Murphy - Charlotte

Murphy placed in a tie for ninth at the John Hayt Invitational in Ponte Verde, Fla. on Feb. 17-19...field included eight top 25 teams, with Murphy's +2, 218 (72-72-74) leading Charlotte to a fifth-place finish.
