Baseball Player of the Week
Randy Moley - St. Bonaventure
Senior, Outfielder, 6-0, 190 lbs.
Buffalo, N.Y./Lancaster HS

Moley went 18-for-27 (.667) with five multi-hit performances over six contests during the Bonnies' six-game swing in West Palm Beach, Fla...went 5-for-6 with two doubles and three runs scored on Feb. 28 in St. Bonaventure's 10-2 win over Mount St. Mary's...had a career-high six hits in seven at-bats, including the game-tying single in the 11th inning, as the Bonnies edged Boston College on Mar. 1, 15-14 (11)...had seven RBI, six runs scored and four walks.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Matt Mongiardini - Temple
Junior, RHP, 6-3, 180 lbs.
Toms River, N.J./Toms River East HS

Mongiardini scattered three hits over seven shutout innings on Mar. 1 to earn his first win of the season on Mar. 1 as Temple earned a 5-2 win at preseason nationally-ranked Old Dominion...struck out four and walked two...allowed just four base runners over the final six innings...holding opponents to a .125 batting average in 13 innings pitched this season.

Baseball Rookie of the Week
Jimmy Roesinger - Dayton
Freshman, Shortstop, 5-9, 160 lbs.
Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral HS

Roesinger went 4-for10 with five RBI and four runs scored as Dayton earned a three-game series sweep of High Point (Feb. 29-Mar. 2)...added a pair of sacrifice bunts and a sacrifice fly...collected two hits, scored three runs and drove in two on Mar. 1 in Dayton's 20-4 victory.

Cory Tilton - Charlotte
Freshman, Outfielder, 5-10, 147 lbs.
Cary, N.C./Green Hope HS

Tilton had three multi-hit games and batted .412 (7-for-17) with four runs scored and four RBI over five contests...slugged his first career homer on Feb. 29 in the 49ers' 3-2 win versus Cleveland State...knocked in the go-ahead runs with a two-out RBI single in Charlotte's 7-3 victory over USC Upstate on Feb. 27.

Softball Player of the Week
Laura Matthews - Dayton
Senior, Catcher, Nashville, Tenn./Franklin Road HS

Matthews hit .625 going, 5-for-8, in a 3-0 weekend for Dayton...had two multi-hit games going 2-for-3 on two occasions...added two runs scored and three RBI with one in each contest...finished the weekend with two doubles.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Brandice Balschmiter - Massachusetts
Junior, Pitcher, Newark, N.Y./Newark HS

Balschmiter went 1-2 with a save after facing three top-25 teams on the weekend at the NFCA Leadoff Classic...pitched a complete game giving up just one run on nine hits with five strikeouts in a 4-1 upset win over #2 Texas A&M...grabbed a save in a 6-3 win over Auburn, retiring the final batter of the game...gave up just two runs (one earned) while striking out four in 7.1 innings pitched in a 2-1 heart-breaking loss to #19 DePaul...finished with 23 strikeouts on the weekend.

Softball Rookie of the Week
Beckah Wiggins - Fordham
Freshman, Pitcher, Conklin, N.Y./Susquehanna Valley HS

Wiggins recorded her first career win and shutout with a two-hitter against Liberty on March 2...recorded a 2.76 ERA for the weekend with 12.2 innings pitched...posted nine strikeouts and gave up just five earned runs.

Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
Mandy Friend - Richmond
Junior, Midfield, Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy

Friend posted 11 points, 15 draw controls and 13 ground balls in a 1-1 week for Richmond...had nine draw controls versus Virginia on Feb. 27 and six in a 19-10 win over William & Mary on Mar. 2...finished with seven goals and four assists on the week...led Richmond with five goals and two assists in a win over the Tribe...added two goals and two assists at Virginia.

Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
Jules Nicola - Richmond
Freshman, Attack, Glenwood, Md./Glenelg HS

Nicola scored four goals and two assists in a 1-1 week for Richmond... scored all four of her goals in a 19-10 win over William & Mary on Mar. 2 ...made 4-of-5 shots in the game...added an assist in a loss at Virginia on Feb. 27.

Men's Tennis Performer of the Week
Matt Sherman - Dayton
Sophomore, Ottawa, Canada/Nepean HS

Sherman led the Flyers with a 3-0 record in both singles and doubles over the weekend...defeated Northern Kentucky opponent (6-3, 6-2) from second singles on Feb. 26...from third singles, picked up victories against Youngstown State (6-2, 6-2) on Feb. 29 and Saint Louis (7-6 (4), 6-4) on Mar. 1...defeated No. 3 NKU doubles opponent (8-6), then notched two second-flight doubles match victories against Youngstown State (8-2) and Saint Louis (8-4).

Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Bryce Warnock - Dayton
Freshman, Prairie Village, Kansas/Shawnee Mission East HS

Warnock was undefeated over the weekend, picking up fifth and sixth-flight victories against Northern Kentucky on Feb. 26 (6-1, 6-2), Youngstown State on Feb. 29 (6-0, 6-0) and Saint Louis on Mar. 1 (7-5, 6-4)...defeated NKU doubles opponents from the third flight, 8-6...second straight Rookie of the Week honor.

Women's Tennis Player & Rookie of the Week
Hailee Elmore - Saint Louis
Freshman, Springfield, Ill./Springfield HS

Elmore lead SLU to a 2-1 weekend, going 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles...from second flight, defeated Xavier opponent (6-4, 6-4) on Feb. 29...defeated Dayton opponent, 6-2, 6-2, on Mar. 1...won 6-1, 6-3, against Wright State opponent on Mar. 2...picked up second-flight victories against Dayton, 6-2,6-0, and Wright State, 6-1, 6-2.

Golf Performer of the Week
Eddie Newland - George Washington
Junior, Piedmont, Calif., Piedmont HS

Newland carded a team-low 228 (75-72-81) at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Tournament, hosted by Francis Marion University on Feb. 25-26...placed 25th out of the 81 competitors.

Golf Rookie of the Week
Brendan Barrack - George Washington
Freshman, Toronto, Canada/Crenshaw School (Fla.)

Barrack fired a 230 (76-75-79) to tie for 35th place at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Tournament, hosted by Francis Marion University on Feb. 25-26...marks fourth time Barrack has been named Rookie of the Week during the 2007-08 season.
