Baseball Players of the Week
Rich Goulian - Fordham
Senior, Shortstop, 6-0, 185 lbs.
Kinnelon, N.J./Seton Hall Prep

Goulian had a pair of four-hit performances and collected 13 hits in 24 at-bats (.542) in leading Fordham to a 5-0 week...scored eight runs and added four steals and three walks...his two-run single in the eighth inning on Apr. 27 proved to be the difference in Fordham's 8-5 win at Temple...had two doubles and a triple on the week...leads the A-10 with 33 stolen bases.

Tim Reeves - George Washington
Junior, 1B/DH, 6-4, 230 lbs.
Cumming, Ga./North Forsyth HS

Reeves batted .500 (11-for-22) with 13 RBI over five contests...had four multi-hit games and stroked three doubles...went 4-for-6 with six RBI in George Washington's 21-5 victory at Saint Louis...leads the team in batting (.368) and RBI (43).

Baseball Pitchers of the Week
Danny Rosenbaum - Xavier
Sophomore, LHP, 6-1, 205 lbs.
Loveland, Ohio/Loveland HS

Rosenbaum tossed eight shutout innings and struck out a career-high 12 on Apr. 27 in Xavier's 4-0 win over St. Bonaventure...allowed six hits and walked two en route to earning his third win of the season...has 58 strikeouts in 50.1 innings pitched...named the A-10 Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.

Matt Zielinski - Richmond
Sophomore, LHP, 6-3, 200l lbs.
Southampton, Pa./La Salle College HS

Zielinski fired the program's first nine-inning, complete-game
shutout since 2004 in Richmond's 5-0 win at Dayton on Apr. 25...scattered eight hits and struck out four...did not walk a batter and allowed just two runners past second base...improved to 4-1 on the year.

Baseball Rookie of the Week
Burny Mitchem - Dayton
Freshman, RHP, 6-6, 260 lbs.
Farmington, Mich./Farmington HS

Mitchem picked up a win and a save with 4.1 innings of scoreless relief on the week...notched his third save of the season on Apr. 23 in Dayton's 6-2 win at Butler, allowing one hit over 1.2 innings...struck out four in 2.2 innings pitched as the Flyers edged Richmond on Apr. 26, 9-7...boasts a record of 4-2 with three saves and a 1.82 earned run average on the year.

Softball Player of the Week
Jessica Serio - Massachusetts
Sophomore, Catcher, Barrington, R.I./Barrington HS

Serio hit .700 on the week, connecting on 7-of-10 at bats with a double and 5 RBI...went 5-for-7 with five RBI in the series sweep at Saint Louis on Apr. 26 after going 2-for-3 in a 6-0 win over UConn on Apr. 23 ...leads the team in doubles with 12...second on the team with a .364 batting average...second Player of the Week honor.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Brandice Balschmiter - Massachusetts
Junior, Pitcher, Newark, N.Y./Newark HS

Balschmiter pitched another perfect 3-0 week, allowing no runs with 16 strikeouts in just 14 innings while tossing her third no-hitter of the season...pitched a no-hitter while striking out seven in a 6-0 win over UConn on Apr. 23...threw three solid shutout innings giving up just two hits while striking out three in a 14-0 (5) win over Saint Louis before fanning six in four innings pitched for a three-hit 9-0 (5) shutout win in game two over the Billikens on Apr. 26...has now pitched 58 consecutive scoreless innings, 84 and 2/3's without giving up an earned run...drops her overall era to 0.56 which is third in the country as of Apr. 23...eighth Pitcher of the Week honor, tying her own record of Pitcher of the Week awards in a season.

Softball Rookies of the Week
Lindsay Maroney - Massachusetts
Freshman, Designated Player, Bradford, Mass./Phillips Academy

Maroney batted 5-for-10 (.500) with two home runs, including a grand slam, and nine RBI on the week...went 2-for-4 with five RBI and her second grand slam of the season in a 14-0 (5) win over Saint Louis Apr. 26...hit her third home run of the season, a two-run shot on her next at-bat, going 2-for-3 with three RBI in a 9-0 (5) win in game two over Saint Louis...leads the team with a .380 batting average...second Rookie of the Week honor.

Whitney Williams - Charlotte
Freshman, Outfielder, Mocksville, N.C./Davie County HS

Williams scattered nine hits with a .750 average to lead the 49ers to a 3-1 week...was a perfect 4-for-4 in the first doubleheader game against La Salle on Apr. 26, including an RBI infield single to bring in the third run in the 3-0 shutout...accounted for over one-third of Charlotte's hitting offense on the week (25 total 49er hits)...third Rookie of the Week honor.

Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year
Allison Furstenburg - Richmond
Junior, Attack, Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon Central Region HS

Furstenburg leads the top-seeded Spiders in goals scored with 53, which is second in the A-10...also ranks second in the league in points per game (4.65) and goals per game (3.12)..points per game total are seventh in the nation...named A-10 Player of the Week on March 31...boasts 14 multi-goal games in 17 contests and has scored at least one goal in every contest this year.

Lacrosse Midfielder of the Year
Mandy Friend - Richmond
Junior, Midfielder, Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy

Friend earned Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors last season...garners the league's first-ever Midfielder of the Year award...enters the Atlantic 10 Championship with 51 goals and 35 assists for 86 points on the season, ranking her first in the league in total points and second nationally...a three-time A-10 Player of the Week honoree...on the Tewaarton Award watch list...ranks third in the league in goals and second in assists...leads Conference in ground balls per game (3.17)...a two-time All-American...making her third appearance on the A-10 All-Conference first-team.

Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year
Eboni Preston - St. Bonaventure
Senior, Goalkeeper, New Windsor, Md./Westminster HS

Preston earned All-Conference second-team honors as a junior and is making her first appearance as a first-team honoree...leads the Conference in saves (170), saves per game (12.0) and save percentage (54.1)...leads the nation in saves per game while ranking second nationally in save percentage...had double-digit saves in 11 contests, including six A-10 contests.

Lacrosse Rookie of the Year
Anne Ryan - Richmond
Freshman, Midfield, Darien, Conn./Darien HS

Ryan enjoyed an outstanding rookie season for Richmond and is the second player from Richmond in three years to earn the top rookie honor...two-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week...fifth on her team in goals scored (20) and ground balls (24)...one of Richmond's top one-on-one defenders from her center midfield position...has six multi-goal performances on the season.

Lacrosse Coach of the Year
Bonnie Rosen - Temple
Second Season

Rosen guided Temple to the program's league-leading eighth A-10 regular season title and a No. 2 seed in the upcoming Championship...helped the Owls to their best start since 2002 and finished the regular season with 11 wins, the most victories since 2004...1993 graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in education, Rosen was a four-year, two-sport athlete, playing both lacrosse and field hockey for the Cavaliers.

Men's Tennis Most Outstanding Performer
Doug Matthews - Xavier
Junior, Maineville, Ohio/Kings HS

At first singles and doubles, Matthews helped lead the Musketeers to the A-10 title on Apr. 4-6 at Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa...Matthews did not lose a singles match throughout the Championship, earning a victory over Felipe Acosta of Saint Louis (6-0, 6-1) before clinching the title against George Washington's Mustafa Gencsoy (6-4, 3-6, 6-4)...teamed with sophomore Chris Herringer to go 3-0 at first doubles, defeating Saint Louis (8-4) and Charlotte (9-7), before securing a crucial doubles point against George Washington (8-6) in the championship match.

Men's Tennis Most Outstanding Rookie
Yan Levinski - George Washington
Freshman, Melbourne, Australia/Brighton Grammar School

Levinksi garnered Most Outstanding Rookie honors after winning all three of his doubles matches paired with teammate Salyer at the A-10 Championship...the duo posted second flight wins against Rhode Island (8-2), St. Bonaventure (8-3) and Xavier (8-6)...in singles, Levinski held a lead in his first two matches against No. 2 opponents from URI and SBU, but did not finish either match.

Men's Tennis Coach of the Year
Eric Toth - Xavier
First Season

Toth was named Coach of the Year after guiding Xavier to its first-ever A-10 men's tennis title and a subsequent automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament...entering the Championship as the second seed, the Musketeers captured three 4-0 victories, starting with Saint Louis, then Charlotte and finally top-seeded George Washington en route to the title..it was Toth's first season as head coach after serving as an assistant at XU for ten years.

Men's Golf Player/Rookie of the Week
Zach Glassman - Dayton
Freshman, Highland Heights, Ohio/University School

Thanks to rounds of 72 and 75, Glassman finished tied for 20th overall at the First Energy Intercollegiate hosted by Kent State on Apr. 26...extended his streak to 12 consecutive rounds below 80 and is tied for the team lead in stroke average at 75.0...has competed in all 24 rounds of Flyers' 2007-08 campaign.

Men's Outdoor Track and Field Performers of the Week
Andrew Benford - Richmond
Sophomore, Ravenswood, W.Va./Ravenswood HS

In just his second career steeplechase event, Benford locked up an NCAA Regional time for the second straight week, clocking an 8:59.11 to finish ninth at the Penn Relays (Apr. 24-26)...the event featured the nation's top collegiate steeple runners and no less than five All-Americans.

Matt DiBuono - Fordham
Junior, New Rochelle, N.Y./Iona Prep

DiBuono, who already sits atop the Conference in the hammer throw, placed fourth at the Penn Relays (Apr. 24-26) with a toss of 193-10...the mark easily qualifies for an NCAA Regional spot.

Men's Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week
Bob Keogh - Temple
Freshman, Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood HS

Keogh won the hammer throw with a toss of 159-8 at the TCNJ Lions Invitational on Apr. 26...also registered a mark of 118-8 in the discus, placing 19th.

Women's Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week
Carlleen Allison - Temple
Junior, Acworth, Ga./Lenape Valley HS

Allison met ECAC standards in a pair of events over the weekend, first with a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash (56.20) at the TCNJ Lions Invitational on Apr. 26...also met ECAC standards in the 4x400-meter relay (3:48.88) at the Penn Relays (Apr. 24-26), which placed 38th overall.

Women's Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week
Arin Whitman - Duquesne
Freshman, Hermitage, Pa./Hickory HS

Whitman finished first in the discus (128-7) at the Carnegie Mellon Senior Meet on Apr. 26...also picked up a pair of second-place finishes with a 136-0 toss in the hammer throw and a career-best 120-5 mark in the javelin.
