NEW YORK - Five Atlantic 10 women's basketball players have been invited to attend the WNBA Pre-Draft Camp, to be held at the University of Tampa's Bob Martinez Center this Friday and Saturday, April 4-5. Seniors Kimberly Beck and Sarah-Jo Lawrence of George Washington, Temple's Lady Comfort, Carlene Hightower of La Salle and Safi Mojidi of Rhode Island were all recognized as WNBA prospects.

The WNBA Draft will be held at the Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Fla., on Wednesday, April 9.

An Atlantic 10 Conference student-athlete has been chosen in the first round of the WNBA Draft for the past two seasons and the A-10 has had 15 women's basketball players selected in the WNBA Draft since the draft began in 1997.

The A-10's last two first round picks were Kamesha Hairston (Temple '06), picked 12th overall by the Connecticut Sun, and Candice Dupree (Temple '05), picked sixth overall by the Chicago Sky. Dupree went on to be named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team during her rookie campaign and led the Sky in points (16.4 pg) and rebounds (7.6 pg) in 2007.
