Auburn Equestrian will be hosting a spring clinic
The Auburn equestrian coaches will be hosting a spring Hunt Seat and Western clinic April 26-27. The two-day clinic is open to riders ages 8 and up with competition experience. For liability and safety reasons, participants in Hunt Seat should be competing comfortably at a 2-foot fence height minimum. For Western, they should have horse show experience which demonstrates their competence and safety for riding with others. Instructors for the clinic will include: Auburn head coach Greg Williams, assistant Hunt Seat coach Lindsay Neubarth, assistant Western coach Lisa Helfer and several volunteer coaches from the Auburn equestrian team. The clinic will be held at the Auburn Equestrian Center, home of the 2005-06 National Champions. The main focus of the clinic will be concentrated instruction in Hunt Seat Equitation over Fences and on the Flat, Horsemanship, Reining and multiple rides on Auburn equestrian team horses. The clinic will also include the Auburn University Veterinary Sports Medicine Program. The program will provide professional film analysis and on-site review of rider's equitation and competency, concentrating on biomechanics between horse and rider. This will assist the coaching staff with enhancing technique. A personalized Dartfish DVD will be available for purchase, comparing clinic students to members of the Auburn equestrian team. The cost for the two-day event spring clinic is $225. Limited spots are available. Please register no later than April 1 to ensure your reservation.
