Tuscaloosa, Ala. - Auburn senior Julie Dwyer captured the vault title for the second time this season as the No. 12 Tigers fell 197.100-195.900 to the No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide. Auburn ends the regular season 7-8, 0-6 SEC.

"This was a very exciting evening with us accomplishing the majority of our team goals by hitting 24-for-24 routines and nearly reaching the 196.00 mark which has been our team goal each meet this season," said Auburn head coach Jeff Thompson. "This may be the only meet in the country this year where both teams hit all 24 routines. It shows the importance of this rivalry."

Dwyer placed second in the all-around with a 39.400. She tied for first place on vault with a 9.900. She placed second on beam scoring 9.850. Lindsey Puckett tied for third on beam scoring 9.825.

A.J. Mills placed second on bars scoring 9.850. Claire Seiffert placed in the top three for the first time this season with a 9.850 on vault.

After the first rotation, the Tigers trailed the Tide 98.500-98.075. Auburn scored its third highest on vault this season with a 49.200. The Tigers collectively scored 48.875 on bars.

The Tigers scored 48.875 on floor, with Dwyer leading the pack with a 9.850. Auburn scored 48.950 on beam. The Tide scored 49.650 on floor as Morgan Dennis notched a near-perfect 9.975, and three other Bama gymnasts scored 9.925. Alabama matched the Tigers' 48.950 on beam.

"We came within a step out of bounds of meeting our 196.00 goal," Thompson said. "I thought our performances were outstanding and since we do not control the scores we are extremely pleased with meeting our performance goal if not our target score."

Tonight's meet concluded the Tigers regular season. Auburn will head to Duluth, Ga., on March 29, to compete in the Southeastern Conference Championship at the Gwinnett Civic Center.
