BABSON PARK, Mass. - Following an outstanding week at the plate, Babson senior outfielder Steve Tahmoush (Arlington, Mass.) was named the NEWMAC Baseball Player of the Week honors on Monday. Tahmoush batted .348 (8-for-23) with a homer, six runs scored, and five RBIs - including two game-winners - in a 4-1 week for Babson. On Tuesday, he went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two driven in as Babson defeated Curry, 14-4. He then finished 2-for-6, including the game-winning single with two outs in the bottom of the 10th, in a 5-4 victory over Brandeis on Wednesday, followed by a 4-for-7, four-run, one-RBI performance in an 18-4 defeat of Johnson & Wales on Thursday. Tahmoush then lifted Babson to a double-header sweep of WPI on Saturday, plating the game's only run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th in game two's 1-0 victory. Through 23 games this season, Tahmoush is batting .402 with four doubles, two triples, two home runs, and 20 RBIs. He also leads the team with 39 hits, 28 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases in 11 attempts.
