WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Just hours after earning NEWMAC Player of the Week honors, sophomore Anna Collins netted a game-high four goals to help the 12th-ranked Babson women's lacrosse team rout Eastern Connecticut State University, 18-6, in a non-conference tilt in West Palm Beach on Monday night. With the win, the Beavers remained perfect at 4-0, while the Warriors slipped to 1-3.

Earlier in the day, Collins garnered NEWMAC Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career, thanks to a magnificent start to her 2008 season. In Babson's first three games, the sophomore midfielder amassed 11 goals, including two game-winners, three assists, 12 groundballs, eight draw controls, and four caused turnovers as the Beavers won all three contests. She netted four goals and collected two assists in an 18-2 win over Plymouth State, four goals, one assist, eight groundballs, four draws, and two CTs in a 15-11 victory over Bates, and three goals and four draw controls in the team's 14-8 win over Endicott.

Collins continued to terrorize opposing goalies in Monday night's game against Eastern Connecticut State, as she scored three times in the first 16 minutes, including two during a 7-0 run that gave Babson an 8-1 advantage. She would later add another score in the second half to finish with four goals, three groundballs, three draw controls, and three caused turnovers as the Beavers rolled, 18-6.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Pettengill also played well on Monday, tallying two goals and two assists to go along with three groundballs and four CTs. Senior tri-captain Anita Martignetti, junior Jackie Godfrey, first-year Sam Sulliman, and senior Melissa Martin chipped in with two goals apiece, and Martignetti added a team-high four groundballs. Rookie goalie Sarah Macary once again went the full 60 in net for Babson, finishing with nine saves.

Still ranked 12th in the country by the IWLCA, the Beavers will now face ninth-ranked Trinity College in a huge matchup of regional powers. That contest will take place on Wednesday at 9 a.m. in West Palm Beach.
