BABSON PARK, Mass. - After helping Babson extend its winning streak to six games, junior shortstop Kaitlyn Clark was named NEWMAC Softball Player of the Week on Monday. Clark batted a team-high .571 in a 4-0 week for the Beavers, going 8-for-14 with two doubles, four runs, and five RBIs while also stealing a base. She went 2-for-7 with a double and an RBI in a double-header sweep of Bridgewater State on Thursday, and then erupted for six hits, including a double, four runs, and four RBIs in seven at-bats in a double-header sweep of Southern Maine. In 18 games this spring, Clark is batting .367 with team-highs of 22 hits and six doubles while also scoring 14 runs and driving in nine. In addition to making a successful switch to shortstop, the versatile career first baseman has also spent time at catcher and third base so far this spring.
