Feb. 16, 2008 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Kaleigh Teel broke the school record in the pole vault on the second day of competition at the Tyson Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Ashley Korol finished 27th with a height of 3.51m (11-06 ¼), setting a new personal best. LeJerald Betters finished third overall, and the top collegiate runner, in the finals of the men's 400 meters with a provisional qualifying time of 46.97. Brittany Carr dropped two-tenths of a second off her personal best to finish in 23rd place in 24.20. "We had a lot of positives after today," said head coach Todd Harbour. "Kaleigh had a great day to set a school record and we had several more provisional qualifying marks. This was a good meet before we go to the Big 12 (Championships). We kept our athletes healthy for the most part and now we need to get to work and get ready for the conference meet." The women's 4x400-meter relay won its heat easily and placed fifth overall with a time of 3:40.01, missing a provisional qualifying time by one one-hundredth of a second. Loren Hodges won her heat of the women's 800 meters and placed fifth overall with a time of 2:12.52. Hodges led the race over the first two laps, but fell to second place after 400 meters. With less than 100 meters to go, Hodges passed on the outside and her lean at the finish line gave her the win by nine one-hundredths of a second.
