AUSTIN, Texas -

The Baylor women's 4x800-meter relay finished in second place and Justin Boyd had the second-fastest time of the 400-meter hurdle preliminaries on the second day of competition at the 81st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

The Lady Bears clocked a time of 8:50.10 to finish second behind LSU's time of 8:45.04. Baylor was nearly 15 seconds faster than the third-place finisher. Danielle Bradley led off for the Lady Bears and passed to Loren Hodges. The redshirt-freshman held the lead for more than 400 meters, but was passed down the homestretch leading to the exchange. Brittany Harlan ran the third leg, and Nichole Jones ran the anchor leg for Baylor who finishes second at the Texas Relays for the second straight year.

Boyd won his preliminary heat of the 400-meter hurdles and qualified for the event finals with the second-fastest time of the preliminaries. His clocking of 51.01 is a season-best time and the third NCAA Regional qualifying time of the season.

Baylor returns to action on Friday morning at the Texas Relays at 9:30 a.m. with the women's 4x100-meter relay. Live results can be found at www.TexasSports.com.
