Track and Field Runs at Drake Relays Distance Carnival

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Baylor women's track and field team earned two top 10 finishes at the Drake Relays Distance Carnival on Thursday evening at Drake Stadium. The men's and women's full squads begin competition on Friday morning. Jessi Barnes claimed sixth place in the women's 5,000 meters with a time of 16:56.97. Renae Van Wyhe finished 12th, while Lyndsy Bedell took 17th overall. Katie Shaw opened the meet with a fourth-place finish in the women's 10,000 meters. Shaw set a new personal best with a time of 37:10.01. Baylor returns to action Friday morning for the second day of competition at the Drake Relays. Baylor begins competition at 9:32 a.m. with preliminary heats of the men's and women's 4x100-meter relay. Live video and live results are available at www.GoDrakeBulldogs.com.
