Colyer Named NSCA All-American

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Baylor softball's Alex Colyer is one of 20 softball players from around the country selected as a NSCA All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year the National Strength and Conditioning Association announced. The selection marks the third time in program history a Baylor softball player has been honored for the award after Carrie Leerberg earned the honor in 2005 and Harmony Schwethelm in 2006. The junior, who was a first-team COSIDA ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VI selection and Academic All-Big 12 pick in 2007, is batting .338 this season and is tied for third on the team with seven doubles. The The NSCA All-American Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Year program recognizes those collegiate athletes whose athletic accomplishments, in the opinion of their strength coach, reflect their dedication to strength training and conditioning. These athletes are also recognized for their academic and personal accomplishments and their integrity as student athletes.
