Swords No. 3 In Nation

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Boston College freshman center Carolyn Swords finished the season third in the nation in field goal percentage.

Swords, who earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors four times this past season, shot 64.2 percent from the floor. She finished behind Maryland senior Crystal Langhorne (64.7%) and Western Kentucky senior Crystal Kelly (64.4%). Swords is the top freshman in the country in FG%.

Swords' was the second leading scorer for the Eagles with 451 points and a 13.7 average. Her teammate and fellow freshman Stefanie Murphy finished the season with 464 points and a 14.5 point average. Murphy finished 11th in the nation in field goal percentage (57.0%).

Boston College finished fifth in the nation in field goal percentage (46.8%). The Eagles also finished eight in the nation in assists per game with a 17.3 average.
