UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team currently sits in eighth place at the Rutherford Intercollegiate after carding a 597 through 36 holes of action. The remaining Falcons went to Detroit, Michigan to finish ninth at the Detroit Titan Invitational, carding a 54 hole score of 934.

The Falcons are currently being led by sophomore John Powers, who sits in a tie for 17th with a 36-hole score of 149. He opened the contest with a 78, but improved dramatically in round two, firing a 71.

Senior Jace Walker and sophomore Matt Schneider are just one stroke behind Powers. Walker's 150 (77-73) and Schneider (78-72) sit in a tie for 20th.

Also competing for the Orange and Brown at the Rutherford Intercollegiate were Trevor Spathelf (152, T-32) and Russell Goodwin (155, T-44).

The third and final round begins at 8 a.m. on Sunday morning.

At the Detroit Titan Invitational, a tournament where you play five golfers and count four scores, the Falcons were at a huge disadvantage with only four golfers competing, but managed to hang tight with most of the field.

Scott Blackburn finished in a tie for 18th, firing a 228 (77-74-77). He was followed by Bryan Mitchell (232, T-29), Chad Walker (232, T-29th) and Charles Seguin (242, 45th).
