Women's Golf Finishes 13th at Illini Spring Classic

URBANA, Ill. - The Bowling Green State University women's golf team had a promising day two at the Illini Spring Classic, improving dramatically between the two-day event. After carding a 354 on Friday, the Falcons rallied back to shoot 322-319 on day two to finish 13th at the Illini Spring Classic with a 54-hole score of 995. Illinois won the tournament with a score of 924.

All five Falcons had much better day two scores, highlighted by senior Jessica McCann. The Mason, Ohio native went 88-79-79 to finish in a tie for 46th. Fellow classmate Carley Hrusovsky matched McCann's pace, firing a 246 (87-81-78).

Also competing for the Falcons were senior Lindsey Jonkhoff (88-81-79--248, 48th), senior Amanda Bader (91-81-87--259, 67th) and freshman Lauren Glew (94-84-83--261, 68th).

Up next for the Orange and Brown is the Cardinal Classic, set to begin on April 13-14.

In other news four Falcons traveled to Angola, Ind., to compete in the Thunder Invitational, hosted by Tri-State, with the Falcons finishing second with a team score of 342.

The Falcons were led by Marisa Glew, who finished third at the event with a 79.

Other Falcon competitors included Megan Bader (87), Megan Gormley (87) and Hannah Lambert (89).
