CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference has announced the 2008 Indoor All-MAC Track and Field Teams and Bowling Green State University senior Lauren Bryant has been named a member of the second team All-MAC in the weight throw.

At the MAC Championships last weekend the Westfield, Ind., native finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 63-00.75, establishing a new school record in the event. The previous mark of 62-01.25 had been held by Mary Williems since 2003.

Men's Coach of the Year
Brad Fairchild, EMU- Faichild was named the 2008 Men's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year afterhis Eagles won thier third consecutive MAC Title. The Eagles scored 207 points and placed nine on this year's All-MAC teams

Men's Most Valuable Performer
Curtis Vollmar, EMU - Vollmar tied for the honors of Most Valuable Performer with teammate Josh Karanja, for his two first place finsihes in the 3,000 and 5,000 meters. He also finished fifth in the mile. Josh Karanja EMU - Karanja tied for the honors of Most Valuable Performer with teammate Curtis Vollmar, for his second in the 3,000 and 5,000 and his third place finish in the mile.

Men's Most Outstanding Track Performance
Clint Allen, EMU - Allen garnered the Most Outstanding Track Performance for his firsr place finish in the 60-meter dash, with a time of 6.69 seconds.

Men's Most Outstanding Field Performance
Evan Whiting, KSU - Whiting's toss of 58-10 3⁄4 feet was a personal best and allowed the sophomore to provisionally qualify for the 2008 NCAA Indoor Championships. He was also garnered the Most Outstanding Field Performance of the Championship

Women's Coach of the Year
Dennis Mitchell, Akron- was named the MAC Women's Coach of the Year for the fourth straight season. The women, who scored 106 points and beat second-place Western Michigan by 10 points, not only becomes the first MAC women's program to win four straight indoor titles, but also the first to win four MAC Indoor titles period. Also, the UA women have now won five straight MAC titles between the indoor and outdoor seasons combined and six of the last seven.

Women's Most Valuable Performer
Joy Eloms, Western Michigan - took home first place in the triple jump with a distance of 40-feet-4-inches, setting a school record in the process and becoming the first Bronco to ever break 40 feet. The Fort Wayne, Ind., native also took home third place in the 200-meter dash and sixth in the 60-meter dash. Combined she earned 23 points and was the high-point performer in the MAC Championships.

Women's Most Outstanding Track Performance
Becky Horn, Western Michigan - took home individual championships in the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter run. Horn's time in the 400, 54.19 seconds, beat a NCAA Provisional qualifying mark. She also ran a 2:12.62 in the 800. For her efforts Horn was awarded Most Outstanding Track Performer for the event.

Women's Most Outstanding Field Performance
Stevi Large, Akron -won the weight throw Friday and placed second in the shot put Saturday, was named MAC Female Field Performer of the Year for the second consecutive year. The Somerset, Ohio native set a MAC Championship record in winning the weight throw with a distance of 69-6 (21.18), nearly five feet further than last year's winning effort.
