Michigan Splits on Day 2 of NCAA Regional Action

On Saturday, the Michigan baseball team completed its rain-suspended game from Friday with a 7-5 win over Kentucky in regional action of the NCAA Baseball Championship. Adam Abraham led the Wolverines with three hits, while Jason Christianson and Leif Mahler drove in two runs apiece. Zach Putnam picked up the win, improving his season record to 9-0. The junior allowed just one run on six hits with four strikeouts in five innings of work. Michigan faced Arizona, the No. 1 seed in the Ann Arbor Regional, Saturday evening, dropping a narrow 4-3 decision to the Wildcats. The Wolverines will take on Kentucky on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET. A win would allow Michigan to face Arizona that evening at 7 p.m. ET.
