Big Ten Track and Field Athletes of the Week Announced



OSU's Lenny Jatsek threw an NCAA automatic mark of 21.50m. in the weight throw to lead all Big Ten performers this season.

Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Ibrahim Kabia, Minnesota
Jr., Brooklyn Center, Minn. / Champlin Park
Kabia blazed the straightaway at the Snowshoe Open clocking a 6.73 in the 60-meter dash.  The junior's time marks a season-best and hit the NCAA provisional qualifying standard.  Kabia is honored with his second all-time weekly accolade.

Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Lenny Jatsek, Ohio State
Sr., Walton Hills, Ohio / Trinity

In his final tune-up before the Big Ten Championships, Jatsek claimed the weight throw event in an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 69-9.75 (21.50).  His toss is tops in the Big Ten this season, and stands as fourth-best in school history.  The Buckeye senior takes home his third career weekly laurel.
