Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week
Matt Allare, Ohio State

Allare won six matches over the weekend, including two match-clinching wins against No. 36 Miami and No. 17 Pepperdine.  In singles, the freshman defeated Miami's J.C. Whitner in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, to start the weekend.  In his second match at No. 1 singles, Allare triumphed over Pepperdine's Brian Broghan, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6.  To round up singles play, Allare downed Wright State's Pip Rehg in two sets, 6-0, 6-2.  In doubles action, the Mason, Ohio native was a perfect 3-0 on the weekend teaming up with a different partner in each match.  The three Ohio State team wins increased its home win streak to 62 consecutive matches.  This is Allare's first career weekly honor.
