Anderson Named Big Ten Player of the Week



Wisconsin senior Jolene Anderson is eighth on the Big Ten's all-time scoring chart with 2,243 career points.

Anderson takes home the fifth weekly honor of her career and her third of the season after leading Wisconsin to three wins last week. On Monday against Northwestern, the senior netted 14 points on 7-of-14 (.500) shooting with four assists, two rebounds and a steal in a 79-65 Badger victory. On Wednesday, Anderson led her squad to a 30-point win versus Indiana, scoring 18 points on 8-of-14 (.571) shooting, adding three assists, two steals and 10 rebounds for her 25th career double-double. The Port Wing, Wis., native also became Wisconsin's all-time leading scorer, male or female, against the Hoosiers, surpassing Alando Tucker's mark of 2,217 set last season. Anderson wrapped up the week on Saturday with a victory at Minnesota as she registered 21 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals to give Wisconsin a .500 mark in conference action. On the week, Anderson averaged 17.7 points on 22-of-46 (.478) shooting, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals. With 2,243 career points, Anderson is eighth all-time on the Big Ten's scoring chart.
