Dominique Blake, Penn State

At the Penn State National, Blake provisionally qualified for the NCAA indoor meet in the 400-meter and the 4x400m. relay. The quarter-mile specialist placed second in the open race to former NCAA Champion Cynetheia Rooks, with a time of 54.30. In relay action, Blake ran the lead leg, piloting the squad to a winning time of 3:38.21 which currently ranks third in all collegiate competition. The New York native picks up her first career weekly honor.

Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Gayle Hunter, Penn State
Jr., Riverside, Calif./J.W. North
Hunter broke her own school record in the pentathlon scoring 4,073 points and automatically qualified for NCAA competition during the Penn State National last weekend. She is the first pentathlete to hit the automatic mark this season. The junior also ran a leg of the Nittany Lion's winning 4x400m. relay team, helping them provisionally qualify with a time of 3:38.21. Hunter garners her first career weekly accolade.
